Case 1 – Design of a Project Management Office
A landmark health care organization asked us to develop an appropriate configuration of a Project Management Office (PMO). Should it be centralized? What kind of authority should it be given? Should all projects be managed by the PMO?
We conducted an extensive research into the culture of organization,its values, priorities, challenges and relationships.
The result was a viable PMO model readily “bought into” by the client.
Case 2 – Develop strategy for a high technology firm
A Silicon Valley high technology firm contacted us looking for help in development of organizational the vision, value proposition and strategy.
Working with the company’s top management, we delivered as requested. The strategy came complete with tangible steps, concrete timeline to which the principals needed to adhere and explicitely defined responsibilities.
Case 3 – Develop Internet Strategy for a government agency
A provincial government agency retained Bizvortex Consulting Group to develop its Internet strategy for its web presence, and technology, people and business processes associated with it.
The agency had already invested significant time and money into web presence and had extensive infrastructure and operations in place. At this time, its leadership was looking for fresh ideas that would create “a cut above” visitor experience and a scalable, cohesive strategy.
The consistent and innovative Internet strategy was developed and presented to the client in just two months.
Case 4 – Enabling CIO’s success
A large well-known hospital was undergoing a change in IT leadership. We were asked to facilitate the transition by creating a comprehensive overview of its business systems, associated IT capabilities and processes.
The resultant deliverables were instrumental to the incoming CIO and IT directors’ ability to focus on the areas needing immediate attention. It saved time and money, and improved the quality of patient care.
Case 5 – Development of a Shared Services Organization and a Business Case
Several health care organizations decided to join forces and rationalize their supply chain by establishing a shared purchasing organization. The initiative was to be partly financed by a government body.
Before we started working on this engagement, the business case developed by a well-known consultancy had been rejected. We led development of the shared services organization model and also developed the business case, which was later accepted by all member organization and the funding authority.
Case 6 – Delivery of a business critical project portfolio
On behalf of the large financial services organization, we led delivery of a basket of approximately 20 mission critical projects, including implementation of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Case 7 – Development of Project Management competencies
A non-profit membership organization faced a growing number of transformational projects and looked for a company that could raise the level of the organizational project management competency effectively and expeditiously.
Case 8 – Business Case Audit
On behalf of a government client, we were invited as an authority on business cases to audit a business case created by a leading IT consultancy for their government client.
Our review of this multi-million dollar case resulted in identification of over 30 material issues. The funding request for an ill-conceived initiative was denied.
